You’ll need: 1 cup of quartered and thinly sliced unpeeled apples (green, yellow and red), 1 navel orange (quartered and thinly sliced crosswise), 1 cup of apple juice (chilled), 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice, 1/4 cup of apple brandy, one 22-ounce bottle of hard apple cider (chilled), ice
Step 1: In a pitcher, combine the apples with the orange, apple juice, lemon juice and brandy.
Step 2: Before serving, add the hard cider. Then serve the drink in a glass over ice.
Hot Mulled Cider
“There’s more than one way to milk a cow”, and preparing apple cider can also be done various ways. Warm up with a cup of flavorful, hot cider.
You’ll need: 1 gallon of apple cider, 3/4 cup of dry white wine (Chardonnay is a good choice), 1/4 cup of honey, 2 quince (peeled, cored and finely chopped), one 4-inch rosemary sprig, two 3- to 4-inch cinnamon sticks (broken), 4 cloves, 1 star anise, 1/2 teaspoon of grated lemon zest
Step 1: Combine the cider, honey, cinnamon, cloves, wine, quince, rosemary, star anise and lemon zest in a large saucepan. Then simmer the mixture over low heat for 45 minutes.
Step 2: Strain the mulled cider and discard the solid pieces. Serve the mulled cider warm.

You’ll need: 1 orange wedge, 2 handfuls of cranberries, Three 1-inch pieces of crystallized ginger (2 minced and 1 whole for garnish), 2 ounces if Aperol, 1 ounce of Lillet Blanc, 4 ounces of hard cider, 4 dashes of Cranberry-Anise Bitters or Peychaud’s bitters, ice
Step 1: In a cocktail shaker, muddle the orange wedge with 10 of the cranberries and the minced ginger.
Step 2: Add in the Aperol, Lillet Blanc, Cranberry-Anise Bitters, and ice. Shake well.
Step 3: Double-strain the mixture into an ice-filled glass and top it off with the hard cider. Finish by garnishing the drink with the 3 remaining cranberries and the slice of ginger skewered on a toothpick. Serve.

You’ll need: 3/4 ounce of citrus vodka, 3/4 ounce of Licor 43 (citrus-and-vanilla-flavored liqueur), 2 ounces of pear juice or nectar, 1/2 ounce of cream soda, 1 ounce of chilled ginger ale, 2 pear slices (for garnish), ice
Step 1: Fill a pint glass with ice. Then, add all of the ingredients other than the ginger ale and pear slices. Stir well.
Step 2: Strain the mixture into a chilled cup. Top the drink off with the ginger ale and garnish with the pear slices. Serve.
