If you aren’t sure what to do during October, consider heading to the New Orleans Film Fest. This annual event is the perfect opportunity to view some of the best films around. The festival is now in its 27th anniversary and is even Oscar qualifying.
Types of Films
You will find a range of films at the New Orleans Film Festival, but it focuses on showing passionate and bold storytellers. The festival last year saw over 200 films screened during the eight-day event. The 2015 event also saw more than 25,000 attendees, which included more than 400 filmmakers who showcased their work. This year’s event runs from Oct. 12 through 20, so you have plenty of chances to attend.
More than Films
In addition to screening the films, the New Orleans Film Fest has various conversations and panels. You will find representatives from the major U.S. distributors and industry leaders. Over the years, many celebrities have attended, including Lupita Nyong’o, Patricia Clarkson, Steve McQueen, Alfre Woodard, Sarah Paulson, and Faith Ford.
